The Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum in North Tonawanda, New York celebrates the production of carousels, other amusement rides, and band organs in Western New York. Housed in the Allan Herschell Company Factory Building, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the museum offers antique carousel rides, a variety of exhibits, a family-oriented Children’s Gallery, a gift shop, demonstrations, and occasional events. Guests can choose to take a ride on the Kiddie Carousel, a small aluminum carousel from the 1940’s, or the 1916 #1 Special, built in 1916 and featuring more than 580 lights and 36 hand-carved horses.
