Eight miles of hiking trails guide visitors in Goose Creek State Park through a wide variety of coastal experiences near Washington, North Carolina, such as a cypress swamp seen from the extensive boardwalk, wetlands by the Pamlico Sound, and Spanish moss-draped live oaks. There are two campgrounds within Goose Creek State Park: a primitive tent camping area situated between two creeks and a loop with several camping cabins and RV sites. The RV sites feature full hookups for sewer, water, and electric, and campsites include a lantern hook, picnic table, fire ring and grill, and a tent pad.
