It was started with part of George Cranbrook's own art and artifact collection and studios for weaving, printing, cabinet making and ironworks. The museum is open from May to November and hosts several exhibitions of its collections. Programs include workshops, family activities, school outings, lectures and talks. The shop sells a variety of memorabilia.
