Created to inspire a love of art and reading, The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art was founded by the author of the classic children's book The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
Instead of permanent galleries, the museum has three rotating exhibits at a time, each of which is centered around a different author, country, or theme. Visitors are also welcome to stop by the Art Studio to dabble around and create their own artwork, stroll through the century-old apple orchard outside, and spend some time relaxing in the library with one of the 4,500 excellent children's books.
