Benjamin Banneker Historical Park and Museum depicts the life, career, and legacy of Benjamin Banneker, a prominent self-taught mathematician, astronomer, naturalist, and activist in the 18th century.

Banneker is considered to be America's first great African-American scientist, noted for his famed almanacs and correspondence with founding father Thomas Jefferson.

Visitors can learn about the scientist's achievements and history at the 142-acre site, which showcases attractions such as a colonial-era log cabin showcasing reproduction period artifacts.

Exhibits detail the history of art, culture, and science in the Chesapeake Bay area. Outside, a colonial-era herb garden connects to an orchard and the nearby Historic Number 9 Trolley Line Trail.

Baltimore National Cemetery is a lovely 72-acre United States National Cemetery in Catonsville, bordering the Baltimore neighborhood of Beechfield along Maryland Route 144.

The cemetery is located on the grounds of the former Cloud-Capped Estate and was developed by the United States federal government in the 1930s. Today, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and inters more than 44,000 at gravesites throughout the former estate grounds.

Notable interments throughout the cemetery include Coast Guard officer Joseph B. Aviles, Sr., Medal of Honor recipient Loddie Stupka, and Coast and Geodetic Survey Corps Admiral Leo Otis Colbert. Monuments honor the region's United States Marine Corps divisions during World War II.

The Historical Ellicott City/Baltimore Trolley Line #9 Trail is a lovely 1,25-mile multi-use trail in Baltimore County, embarking from Catonsville's Edmondson Avenue and extending to Ellicott City's Main Street. The trail stretches along a route formerly belonging to the Catonsville and Ellicott City Electric Railway Company trolley line, which transported passengers between Ellicott City and Baltimore throughout the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The line operated electric rail cars between 1895 and 1914, providing passenger service between the cities of Ellicott City, Catonsville, and Baltimore. Today, it has been converted into a rails-to-trails gateway, showcasing sections of modern boardwalk alongside hand-cut rocks from the original railway.
