Dating back to 1785, Hamilton House is a beautiful Georgian Mansion overlooking the Salmon Falls River. The mansion stands on land that was purchased from the Wabanaki people and has served various purposes over the centuries. In the 19th century the mansion was used as a summer country retreat and beautiful gardens were established. When you visit the Hamilton House Museum today you can admire many beautiful antiques, decorative arts and murals. The mansion is open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays and guided tours leave on the hour between 11am and 3pm. Events you might like to attend include guided landscaping tours of the gardens and summer Sundays in the Garden Musical concerts.
