The John James Audubon Museum was established to interpret the work and life of famed naturalist John James Audubon, as well as his family. This is done within a specific timeline of events in the world. Three galleries throughout the museum showcase the story of Audubon, which includes his residency in Henderson between the years of 1810 and 1819. More than two hundred items can be seen on display at the John James Audubon Museum, including artifacts of Audubon’s during his Kentucky years and The Birds of America, the naturalist’s masterwork. There’s also a gift shop with items made by Kentucky artisans.
