Review:
Originally built back in the 1890’s, the restored Columbian Theatre in downtown Wamego, Kansas serves as both a theatre venue and an art gallery. The building houses the largest decorative arts collection from the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair. Among the pieces in the “Columbian Exhibition” are six massive paintings that can be seen upstairs. The gallery on the main floor regularly features art exhibits during the year. In addition to the artwork on display, the Columbian Theatre also still presents plays, concerts, and musicals on its stage. Visitors can also schedule a tour of the theatre and its artwork.
