The National Agricultural Center and Hall of Fame was established to educate visitors on both the historic and present day value of the agriculture of the United States, as well as to honor leaders in academia and agribusiness by providing recognition, experience, information, and education. The Agriculture Hall of Fame is typically open Tuesday to Saturday from late April through the middle of October. The Museum of Farming features over 20,000-square feet of space primarily devoted to antique farm machinery and farm implements. There’s also the Gallery showcasing numerous agriculture-related artifacts, along with a play area for children.

2. Step Into a Medieval Adventure at the Kansas City Renaissance Festival

The Kansas City Renaissance Festival offers a chance to step back in time to a different age to get a taste for life during the sixteenth century. Visitors come from all over to experience the history of the Renaissance, whether its fighting barbarians, training with the Queen’s Royal Guard, shooting arrows alongside the Black Archers, talking about philosophy and art with Da Vinci, learning how blacksmiths make iron tools, and much more. The Renaissance festival features non-stop entertainment across more than a dozen stages, including choreographed combat, magic, comedy and music. There’s also plenty of drinks and food.

3. If You’re Ready to Tee Off in Style, Play at Sunflower Hills Municipal Golf Course

Opened in the Bonner Springs community in 1977, the Sunflower Hills Municipal Golf Course is one of the Kansas City metropolitan area’s most affordable and challenging eighteen-hole golf courses. Featuring spacious fairways, the golf course is part of the Sunflower Golf Trail, as well as a programming facility with The First Tee of Greater Kansas City. The Junior Course at Sunflower Hills consists of a practice bunker, putting green, driving range, three tee sets, and six holes. This year-round golf course is also home to water hazards, numerous bunkers, zoysia fairways, rolling greens, and one of the Midwest’s largest putting greens.
