Review:

Pisa Baptistery is located in Piazza dei Miracoli (Square of Miracles). The immense structure, Italy’s largest baptistery, was founded in 1152 as a worthy and hormonious addition to majestic Pisa Cathedral. The Baptistery is where Christian sacraments of baptism took place at the grand octagonal baptism font. Nicola and Giovanni Pisano, father and son architects and sculptors, made changes to the original structure and added the pulpit and exterior sculpted figures, ushering in a new Renaissance of sculpture. The double dome of the baptistery accounts for its exceptional acoustics. Today, an attendant sings a few notes to demonstrate the acoustics every 30 minutes.
