Review:
Between Savannah, Georgia, and Hilton Head, South Carolina, lays Daufuskie Island, a tiny speck of an island with only about 250 residents. What it lacks in size, the island makes up for in amenities. The island consists of two resorts and one private residential community. The island has been declared a historic district for its role in the Civil War and for its original inhabitants Gullahs.
The island is a luxury enclave with high-end shops, great golf courses, art galleries, and superb restaurants. There are no bridges to the mainland, so all transportation takes place by ferry and boats. The island boasts an air of privacy and seclusion; even the ferry is private.
