The Johnson County Historical Society is a non-profit, private organization dedicated to fostering an appreciation for Johnson County’s cultural and historical heritage through interpretation, preservation, and education. The historical society operates a museum in the town of Coralville, Iowa containing over thirteen thousand historic artifacts portraying the vibrant and diverse heritage of Johnson County, dating back to the Meskwaki tribe and the area’s early settlers through contemporary times. The Johnson County Historical Society Museum is open to the general public Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00am until 5:00pm and on Sundays from noon until 5:00pm.
