The Iowa Firefighters Memorial was created with a mission of forever honoring, celebrating, and inspiring the spirit, service, and courage of firefighters in the state of Iowa, including past, present, and future firefighters. With Iowa being the first state with a firefighter memorial, this park was established to serve as an inspiration to people of all ages in Iowa, continuing a tradition of service to others and the community, exemplifying the values and pride of the state. The Iowa Firefighters Memorial site is made up of a visitor center, an eternal flame, and the memorial wall and sculpture.
