The Deam Lake State Recreation Area offers opportunities for a wide variety of outdoor recreation activities, including camping, hunting in designated areas, hiking, picnicking, swimming, boating, and fishing.

Named for the first state forester of Indiana, Charles Deam, the lake spans across nearly 200 acres. There a little more than 100 campsites in the recreation area’s family campground. 36 stall campsites and 68 campsites featuring a hitching post can be found as well in the horseman’s campground. The Deam Lake State Recreation Area also offers sixteen camper cabins available for rent, three of which are located in the horsemen’s campground.
