John James Audubon State Park is located outside Evansville across the state line in Kentucky. One of the park’s highlights is a museum that commemorates the John James Audubon family in the context of world events. There are three galleries displaying over 200 objects, his masterwork, The Birds of America, and other original art. A gift shop features nature-inspired gifts, many of which are by Kentucky artisans. The park also has a nature center in the same building as the museum. It offers guests the Discovery & Learning Center, the Audubon Theater, and a wildlife observation room. The park is open year round.
