Visit the J. Kenneth Smith Bird Sanctuary & Nature Center and experience one of the best birding spots in Roswell. Open since 2005, the 15-acre sanctuary is home to a number of migratory and exotic birds such as the Canadian goose, scaled qual, black-chinned hummingbird, and many others. The sanctuary is also passionate about educating children and the neighboring community through their Nature Center. There, visitors are in for a unique educational experience as they learn more about the visiting birds, the surrounding habitat, and the fragile ecosystem in which the birds are a part of. The sanctuary is located along the Spring River Trail, which is a fully paved trail for walkers, runners, and even cyclists. Visitors and trail walkers are also welcome to enjoy a picnic in one of the many picnic areas throughout the sanctuary.
