Review:

Illinois Beach State Park is a beautiful Illinois state park located along the shores of Lake Michigan, just outside the cities of Winthrop Harbor and Zion. The stunning park is separated into two units that comprise a total area of more than 4,100 acres, stretching across six miles of the lake's shoreline. The park's southern end is designated as a nature preserve, protected as a National Natural Landmark since 1980. Visitors can enjoy excellent opportunities for outdoor recreation at the park throughout the year, including chances for swimming, boating, hiking, cycling, birdwatching, and picnicking. 244 Class-A campsites at the park offer electric hookups and access to modern restrooms. Guests can also stay at the lovely Illinois Beach Resort and Conference Center, which is home to 96 spacious guest rooms and suites, an ADA-accessible restaurant, and an Olympic-sized swimming pool.
