The Wisconsin Book Festival lasts four days and is Wisconsin's main literary event. It is held every fall at the Madison Public Library, drawing a local and regional audience of almost 15,000 people. The festival offers attendees opportunities to meet their favorite authors, discover new books, and have books signed. Established in 2002, the Wisconsin Book Festival has brought thousands of nationally acclaimed and local authors to Madison, with the goal to encourage reading, writing, discussion, and the exchange of ideas. Since 2013, the festival has been being organized by Madison Public Library in partnership with Madison Public Library Foundation. All festival events are open to the public and are free of charge.
