When it comes to beautiful sea creatures, the beloved manatee will often come to mind in Florida. At Manatee Lagoon, visitors can come and see these elegant sea dwellers in the flesh and learn more about them.
Dedicated to the preservation and protection of Florida’s wildlife and environment, Manatee Lagoon is known for its unique efforts towards securing the future of the state’s manatee population. At the lagoon, visitors can explore two levels worth of interactive exhibits as well as manatee observation areas. The conservation center also has a picnic area, shaded solar canopies to rest at, and a manatee webcam for those who want to follow the center’s star, Mia the manatee. Visitors are welcome at the Manatee Lagoon from 9 am to 4 pm during the manatee season. The best part? Admission is free!
