The Florida Museum of Natural History, located on the University of Florida campus in Gainesville, is the official natural history museum of the state of Florida.

The museum focuses on the state of Florida as well as on the Caribbean and Latin America, exhibiting display plants, animals, and cultural artifacts from Florida and often featuring traveling exhibits.

There are hands-on learning activities for kids and adults alike to gain a deeper understanding of the history of Florida and its surrounding area. The museum features a gift shop and sells butterfly-friendly plants near the entrance for visitors who would like to attract butterflies to their own property.
