Encompassing 240 acres just outside Tampa, Lettuce Lake Conservation Park consists primarily of swampland and evergreen forest. Shady picnic areas can be found in various locations throughout the park, and there are playgrounds and public restrooms. The park offers several excellent walking trails, including a 1.25-mile paved loop trail and a boardwalk that allows visitors to peek into the swamp water and see alligators, turtles, and other wildlife. There is also a lookout tower that provides stunning views of the river. A small admission fee is charged to enter the park, and canoes and kayaks are available for rent on-site.
