The park is located on a peninsula in South Tampa and besides being a great picnic destination, it also boasts a nice beach and a sandy playground for children. The park is very well maintained and offers a sand volley-ball court and a disc golf course. There are several shaded picnic shelters with grills, which you can reserve in advance. Visitors can also bring along their dogs – there is a fenced-off dog park where dogs can get some exercise. The park is also very popular with bird watchers – dozens of species of land and marine birds can be spotted.
