When I’m in Doral, I always feel like I’ve found the perfect mix of energy, elegance, and relaxation. Since it’s just minutes from Miami International Airport, I often spend my first night here when I land. You’ll notice right away how Doral blends luxury resorts, world-class golf, and amazing dining in a setting that feels both upscale and welcoming. Whether you're perfecting your swing or grabbing Cuban coffee and arepas like I do, Doral gives you a sophisticated gateway to South Florida that’s hard to beat.
Best Time to Visit
I always aim to visit between November and April—you’ll get warm, dry weather that’s perfect for golf, shopping, and dining al fresco. You might find summer hot and humid (I sure do), but it’s also when you’ll score better hotel deals and enjoy fewer crowds.
How to Get There
- If you are traveling by car: I usually drive in via the Dolphin Expressway (SR 836) or the Palmetto Expressway (SR 826). You’ll be just 20 minutes west of downtown Miami.
- By Air: I love how convenient Doral is—Miami International Airport (MIA) is only 10 to 15 minutes away. You’ll be checked in and unwinding before you know it.
- By Public Transit: You can take Miami-Dade Transit (I’ve done it), but I usually recommend a car or rideshare—it’s quicker and gives you more flexibility.
Where to Stay
- Trump National Doral Miami – If you love golf, this is the place. I’ve stayed here for the courses, the spa, and those poolside cabanas you won’t want to leave.
- AC Hotel by Marriott Miami Airport West/Doral – Sleek and modern, with rooftop dining I think you’ll enjoy, especially if you want to be close to CityPlace Doral.
- Provident Doral at the Blue Miami – When I’m traveling with my husband and son, I like staying here. You’ll have space to spread out, and the kitchenettes come in handy.
