A quiet, small, pleasant town surrounded by spectacular Arches and Canyonlands National Park, Moab is a popular base for tourists exploring mesmerizing red rocks (Video) and fascinating geological formations, mountain bikers who come for the challenging Slickrock Trail, and people riding off-road vehicles who come to take part in the annual Moab Jeep Safari. Explore the Breathtaking Forest of the La Sal Mountains with kids, go rafting on the Colorado River, take the kids on trails between the fascinating red rock formations, or have them learn how to wall climb and rappel with one of several rock climbing companies. Visit Moab Recreation and Aquatic Center for its lovely pools and slides or head to Ken’s Lake for some swimming, kayaking, canoeing, rafting, and fishing.

Take at least one Family Dinosaur Field Trip to see dinosaurs tracks – many used to roam around Moab.
