Review:

Located on Ten Broeck Place, the Ten Broeck Mansion is a historic house museum in Albany. Originally called “Prospect,” the mansion was built between 1797 and 1798 by General Abraham Ten Broeck.

Overlooking the Hudson River and surrounded by formal gardens, the mansion was originally built in Federal style but was renovated thirty years later in Greek Revival style. The house museum has been owned and operated by the Albany County Historical Association since 1948; the mansion is also the home of the Association.

Its decorations and furnishings date from the mid-19th century. Tours are conducted and the museum hosts many events throughout the year.
