The University of Wisconsin Geology Museum (UWGM) features over 1,000 items related to rocks, minerals and meteorites, invertebrate, vertebrate and fish fossils, and plant fossils. Housed in Weeks Hall on the UWGM campus, the museum aims to encourage an interest in and educate the public about geology and the history of the Earth.
Visitors to the museum can enjoy a range of tailor-made tours through the facility, from special kindergarten classes to adult civic groups, exploring hundreds of rock and mineral specimens, a unique black light mineral display and skeletons from dinosaurs and Ice Age animals. Admission to the museum is free.
