This quirky and fascinating museum is home to the Colorado State University’s diverse collection of historic textiles and apparel. Avenir means “the future”, and the museum is dedicated to show interested visitors how the development of textiles and fabric articles has evolved through the ages. Here you can learn about how different cultures have adopted particular types and styles of fabric and used them as an expression of their culture. Exhibits include startlingly colorful African Wax Prints, stunning hand-embroidered articles and the Richard Blackwell exhibit of Mannequins and Mounts. The exhibits are spread across 4 galleries in 2 separate buildings on the campus.
