Review:
In 2005, Hurricane Katrina displaced thousands of families and left several states in ruin. In Mississippi, the story was no different. When the water subsided, what was left were hundreds of collapsed homes and mile upon mile of trees that had been stripped and broken by the powerful wind and water. Out of the ashes of devastation arose a beautiful memorial as in 2007, artists descended upon the dead trees and began carving them into awesome and inspiring memorials. The Hurricane Katrina Tree Sculptures are now a popular and solemn 50-sculpture roadside attraction spanning the entire length of Highway 90. Among the many beautiful sculptures, visitors will also find the world’s largest eagle sculpture, standing at 17-feet tall.
