Tonopah Historic Mining Park 's mission is to preserve the mining heritage of the region and the park covers more than 100 acres, including part of the area worked by four of the original mining companies. The park's buildings are open to visitors and represent the mining buildings of yesteryear. The park also displays mining equipment, video presentations, exhibits, and special events.

The visitors center includes a bookstore. Aside from self-guided tours, visitors can perform a walk down the mine tunnel (Burro Tunnel) during the Underground Adventure. Along with historical reenactments and events such as the Nevada State Mining Championships, which are held onsite, visitors can learn to blacksmith by signing up for introductory classes.
