If you’re headed to North Texas and want a mix of sports, shopping, and surprises, I always tell folks—make time for Frisco. I’ve explored this city just north of Dallas more than once, and every time I find something new. Whether you’re catching a game, diving into interactive museums, or just strolling through a food hall with a local craft beer in hand, Frisco delivers way more than you’d expect.

Top Things to Do in Frisco, Texas

  • Catch a Game at The Star or Riders Field – I’ve cheered at both Cowboys practices and RoughRiders baseball games here. You’ll love the energy, even if you’re not a die-hard fan.
  • Explore the National Videogame Museum – I didn’t expect to love this as much as I did. You’ll get a blast of nostalgia and some serious arcade fun too.
  • Visit the Museum of the American Railroad – If you’re like me and love a good history fix, walk through vintage trains and hear some great stories along the way.
  • Stroll Through the Frisco Fresh Market – I always stop here for fresh bites, local finds, and that laid-back weekend vibe. You’ll likely leave with something unexpected—and delicious.
  • Walk the Texas Sculpture Garden – I found this spot accidentally, and now I tell everyone to go. It’s peaceful, artsy, and a great way to unwind after a busy afternoon.
  • Eat at Legacy Hall (just minutes away in Plano) – Okay, it’s technically next door, but I’d be doing you a disservice if I didn’t mention it. I go for the variety of food stalls, live music, and buzzing atmosphere.

Best Time to Visit Frisco

I’ve visited all year, but spring (March–May) and fall (September–November) are my favorites. You’ll get mild weather that’s perfect for walking, sports events, and patio dining. Summers are hot—no way around it—but if you plan indoor stops (and I always do), you’ll manage just fine. Winter’s quieter, and I’ve found hotel deals and lighter crowds if that’s more your speed.

How to Get to Frisco

  • By Air: I fly into Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) or Dallas Love Field (DAL)—both get you to Frisco in about 30–40 minutes by car.
  • By Car: I usually drive up from Dallas on the Dallas North Tollway. It’s a direct route and easy to navigate, even if you’re new to the area.
  • By Rideshare: If you don’t want to rent a car, I’ve had no trouble using Uber or Lyft to get around town comfortably.

Where to Stay in Frisco

  • Recommended for Sports Fans: Omni Frisco Hotel – I’ve stayed here when I wanted to be close to the action at The Star. It’s sleek, modern, and you’ll feel the buzz of game day.
  • For Families: Drury Inn & Suites Frisco – You get comfort, free breakfast, and a pool the kids will love. I’ve recommended it to friends with kids, and they’ve raved.
  • For Luxury Seekers: Hotel Indigo Frisco – When I’m looking for something a little more boutique without breaking the bank, this is where I book.
