At the Ouray County Museum , located in a historic building that was the St. Joseph's Miner's Hospital from 1886 to 1964, visitors can learn all about the storied history of Ouray County. There are almost 40 exhibits in the museum, pertaining to subjects like mining, railroads, and ranch life, as well as artifacts from original settlers and Native American tribes who once lived in the area. Visitors can also start the Ouray Historical Walking Tour from the museum with the help of an informational pamphlet offered at the front desk.
