Review & FAQ:

Castlewood Canyon State Park - West is a 2,600-acre park that is worth a visit not just because of its gorgeous wildlife, ecology, and geography, but also because of its historical significance to the state of Colorado.

It is unique for being home to the remains of the Castlewood Canyon Dam, which famously burst in 1933 only to send a 15-foot wall of water careening all the way to Denver’s downtown area. Additionally, the park is home to the Cherry Creek Bridge, a ton of hiking and running trails, as well handicapped-friendly trails.

Avid climbers can enjoy a number of rock climbing opportunities at the park, while lovers of the outdoors can spot gorgeous wildlife in the area like coyotes, red foxes, mountain lions, and golden eagles.
