Review:

Mount Shavano and Tabeguache Peak are some of the most southernmost locations in the Sawatch Mountain Range. Getting to the peak is not for the faint of heart and can be a rather strenuous hike no matter which trail you decide to take. Though, once you get to the top, it will be completely worth it as the view is incomparable. The view from Tabeguache Peak seems endless and will give you one of the best vantage points of the entire Sawatch Mountain Range. July and August are generally the best months to climb and some of the routes may require camping in the valley overnight so prepare accordingly. There are also several sections closed off due to erosion so be sure to check in with Forest Service ranger before starting your climb.
