St. Elmo is a gold and silver mining community that was founded in the 1880s. There are over 150 patented mine claims in the area and now you too can join the thousands of people who came here in search of riches. Though the tracks were abandoned in 1922, you can still see much of the remnants which show how people lived, worked, and thrived back then. You’ll be able to explore the St. Elmo General Store and its surroundings or opt for a longer stay by renting out one of the warm cabins. The semi-rustic cabins are gorgeous and let you get an idea of what the homestead was like in St. Elmo during the ‘80s.
