St. Elmo is a gold and silver mining community that was founded in the 1880s. There are over 150 patented mine claims in the area and now you too can join the thousands of people who came here in search of riches. Though the tracks were abandoned in 1922, you can still see much of the remnants which show how people lived, worked, and thrived back then. There are also several sections closed off due to erosion so be sure to check in with Forest Service ranger before starting your climb.
