Founded in 1966, the Creede Repertory Theatre is a professional theatre company that produces a range of high-quality productions and performances for the community of Creede. Tucked away in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado, the award-winning company provides up to ten plays in rotating repertory each season, as well as hosts numerous musical events and concerts, and offers nationally recognized educational programming for students and drama-lovers of all ages. The theater’s main stage started life in the 1930s as a movie house and later the Creede Opera House, before being transformed into the Creede Repertory Theatre in 1966. Today, the theater seats 230 people and houses the main stage and box office, a costume shop and storage, the Helfin rehearsal hall, a gift shop, and several concessions.
