There’s something very eerie yet inexplicably awe-inspiring about the Sapodilla Bay Hill Rock Carvings. This island hill, located on one of the more distant islands of Turks and Caicos, is full of boulders that bear carvings made by shipwreck victims since the beginning of the age of sailing. Discover the words etched into craggy chalk rocks and marvel at the names, dates and, at times, intricate carvings left behind by the poor souls left marooned on the island. Many of the carvings have been dated to take place between the mid-1700s and the mid-1800s, making the trip both incredible and spine-tingling at the same time.
