Museo Napoleonico is located in the Villa Fiorentina, a beautiful Renaissance-style palace built in the 1920s and a home of Orestes Ferrara. The museum features personal collections of Orestes Ferrara and Julio Lobo and contains more than 7,000 objects - arms, furniture, bronzes, sculptures, paintings, porcelain, books, coins, engravings, autograph letters, and personal items that belonged to Napoleon and his entourage.

All exhibited artefacts and various memorabilia were bought at auction in the early 20th century. The collection is considered the most significant Napoleonic collection in Central America and was declared a national heritage. The museum was opened to the public in 1961.
