Review:

The beautiful waterfront Canadian War Museum is Canada’s authoritative national voice of military history.

It is well respected throughout the world for providing an understanding of armed conflict. Founded in 1880, when it was a mere collection of military artifacts, it now welcomes about half a million visitors a year. Gallery exhibitions focus on the human experience of war.

In total, the museum presents about 3 million artifacts, works of art, written documents, and audio-visual recordings.

There are eight permanent exhibitions and numerous ongoing temporary exhibitions. The museum has a military research center and a searchable catalog of artifacts. There is also a gift shop with items related to the exhibitions.
