Review:

What was in the 1920s just avocado groves and fields of lima beans is today a charming coastal town popular with surfers and families called Solana Beach. With 4 square miles by the sea, much of life revolves around beaches here. The nicely manicured green polo fields at the southeast end of town attract a different kind of crowd. A short distance from the beach is sprawling San Dieguito Park, with miles of hiking trails, playing fields, and ocean overlooks.

The San Elijo Lagoon Ecological Reserve is a lush wetland with 7 miles of trails and rich wildlife. Fletcher Cove Beach Park has something for everyone: A viewing deck, a basketball court, grassy area with picnic tables and benches, and a large kids’ playground.
