Those values were passed down from generation to generation when the Sievers decided to add the olive grove to their already flourishing land which is filled with fruits and vegetables. You can visit the grove, better understand the company’s history and process, and indulge in some of their internationally acclaimed, award-winning olive oils. The company is renowned for their single varietal oils from Spanish, Italian, Greek, and French varietals.

2.Jelly Belly Factory Tour

For generations jelly beans have been a favorite, whether they were the choice treat in your mother’s candy dish or if they were a part of a kid’s Easter basket. What better way to spend a day in Fairfield than to step into their factory and see how they cook up their legendary jelly beans. You can learn about why it takes over a week just to make a single jelly bean while also witnessing how they concoct over 150 other sweet treats in the factory. Start your adventure at their Visitor Center before heading out on the complimentary, self-guided walking tour that takes approximately forty-five minutes. 3.Wooden Valley Winery

The Wooden Valley Winery was started by brothers Manuel and Salvador Brea at the end of Prohibition in 1933; a little over ten years later Mario Lanza moved to Suisun Valley to join the brothers as a partner. A little over ten years after that, he became the sole owner of the winery but continued to instill his family-based values he brought back from northern Italy. Today, the Wooden Valley Winery continues to greet its visitors with the same old-style Lanza family hospitality that Mario introduced originally. Not only will you be able to indulge in specially-prepared blends of their wines from their tasting menu, but you can also enjoy a meal on their picnic tables, take stunning photos of the surrounding views, and buy all kinds of souvenirs and gifts to take back with you.

4.Travis Air Force Base Heritage Center

The Travis Air Force Base Heritage Center is an aviation museum that was established in 1986 in Fairfield, California. Visitors are invited to take in and understand the history of Travis Air Force Base, the airmen that were assigned there, the 60th Air Mobility Wing, and the importance of humanitarian airlift efforts and strategic air mobility. The exhibits are informative and filled with artifacts and information that will interest the entire family. The 35+ aircraft displays that you’ll come across include the A-26K “Counter Invader”, C-5A “Galaxy”, the F-86L “Sabre”, and the B-29 “Superfortress” which was used to drop the “Little Boy” atom bomb on Hiroshima and the second “Fat Man” atom bomb on Nagasaki.

5.Vezer Family Vineyard

Best known for their Zinfandel and their Petite Sirah, the Vezer Family Vineyard produces some of the region’s best wines. The vineyard and winery can be found in California’s Suisun Valley, which has the perfect combination of climate and soil for choice grapes to grow. 6.Rockville Hills Regional Park

Spanning over seven miles round trip, hiking through Rockville Hills Regional Park is one of the most adventurous and wonderful ways to spend the day outdoors while in Fairfield. It’s classified as having a moderate level of difficulty, so it shouldn’t be too difficult for first timers or more experienced hikers. You can climb through the volcanic rock hills and wander through remote and grassy valleys. 11.Galvan Family Cellars

Though Galvan Family Cellars is a family-owned and operated vineyard and winery, it grew from a passionate Salvador Galvan who had been making wine since the late 1990s. The winery opened in 2003 with a production of 200 cases and has steadily grown over the years to produce over 3,500 cases annually. Their range of proprietary blends and several small-production single varietal wines have gained a loyal following. You can try many of their current releases such as their 2013 Lovechild, 2016 Petite Sirah, and 2015 Stamping Grounds in the boutique winery’s very own tasting room.
