Bodega Bay is a small fishing town along the Bodega Head peninsula in California, located approximately two hours north of San Francisco. There are many great Bodega Bay beaches. The town is best known as the filming site of the legendary Alfred Hitchcock film The Birds, which was inspired by an actual attack on the town in the 1950s by shorebirds who were believed to have ingested poisonous toxins.
Located about 2 hours from San Francisco, Bodega Bay makes a great weekend getaway.
