Hawa Mahal, or the Palace of Wind as it translates to in English, is a magnificent palace which can be found in the heart of Jaipur. It was constructed under the order of Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, who was Jaipur’s Kachwaha ruler in the late 1700s. The construction of the palace was completed in 1799 and you can notice a lot of features relevant to when it was being built such as its iconic red and pink sandstone structure.

The grand and historical palace has a unique five-floor exterior with 953 windows, making it look similar to a honeycomb. Other aspects you’ll be able to see include the intricate lattice work on the windows, the stone inlay filigree work and arches, and the colored glass work that reflects the sunlight and splays vibrant colors throughout the chamber.
