The Village Coffee Roastery is one of Arizona's oldest independent coffee houses, originally opened in 1996 by Craig Sellmen. The roastery was the United States' first coffee shop that utilized technologies specifically meant to minimize human error at its opening. Since 2006, it has been owned and operated by Lisa Stroud, developing a reputation around the United States for its coffee experimentation with Arabica bean preparation. Diners can choose from a variety of drip coffee options or opt for artisanal selections like five-bean espresso macchiatos and con pannas, cafe au laits, and mocha lattes. Iced coffee options include signature Cafe Freezes, which blend espresso, ice, milk, and flavors like dark chocolate and caramel.
