What makes Alaska a unique travel destination?

If you’re craving wild, untouched beauty, I think you’ll find Alaska absolutely unforgettable. You can stand in awe of Denali—the highest peak in North America—and I promise, seeing it rise more than 20,000 feet above sea level is something you’ll never forget. I still remember how small I felt in the best way possible.

Where can visitors explore Alaska’s natural wonders?

You should definitely explore Denali National Park—it’s one of my favorite places for epic views and wildlife spotting. And if you’re up for something truly rare, I suggest heading to Mendenhall Glacier Recreation Area. You’ll have the chance to hike on top of an actual Ice Age glacier. I’ve done it, and it felt like walking on another planet.

What historical attractions can be found in Alaska’s cities?

When I visit cities like Anchorage, Juneau, or Sitka, I always carve out time for their incredible history. You’ll find stories of pioneers and indigenous communities that really help you understand what shaped Alaska. I think you’ll walk away with a whole new perspective.

What historical sites can visitors explore in Alaska?

You can tour old Gold Rush mining sites. I’ve walked through a few and felt like I was stepping back in time. I also recommend visiting Native heritage centers, which I find both moving and educational. And if you’re into architecture and trade history, you’ll want to explore the historic Russian fur trade sites. They’re listed on the National Register and tell a fascinating part of Alaska’s past.
