At 3,374 feet, Trayfoot Mountain, Virginia is the second highest peak in the South District of Shenandoah National Park. It can be clearly seen from the Blackrock summit, but it is not much visited. It is not too far a hike from the Skyline Drive, but Trayfoot avoids becoming one of the overcrowded summits. The trail through Trayfoot Mountain runs through some beautiful, remote areas of Shenandoah park and the trail is often covered in leaves, so it is easy to miss. The mountain has two main summits and there is a mile-long ridge that connects them. Trees obstruct views from the top, but there is enough open area to see the rocky slopes of Blackrock.
