Little Walker Mountain, Virginia is a 3,340-foot-high ridge that runs northeast/southwest for about 20 miles, creating a typical Blue Ridge profile. The ridge rises about 1,000 feet higher than its base on both ends. The entire ridge is part of the Jefferson National Forest and is covered with southern Appalachian hardwood forest with chestnut oak, northern white oak, sugar maple, some white pine groves, and a few Carolina hemlocks. The Seven Sisters Trail runs for about 5 miles along the Little Walker Mountain’s highest ridges. Not the easiest of hikes, but the trail is surrounded by wildflowers. It's a well-marked and rarely used trail, so you can enjoy your solitude.
