Review & FAQ:
The stalactites and stalagmites of the Tuckaleechee Caverns are located in Townsend, Tennessee.
They are more than 20 million years old, with a cold, clear underground stream that runs through the vast chambers and the Big Room, which is more than 400 feet across, with stalagmites that are up to 24 feet tall. There are more than 8,000 caves in Tennessee, but the Tuckaleechee Caverns are the highest rated of their kind in the eastern US.
Visitors to the caverns can see for themselves the Big Room as well as a double waterfall – Silver Falls – which has a 200-foot drop, during a mile-long guided tour of the caverns.
