Named for the early Horseshoe Bay farmer Frank E. Murphy, who donated the original 11 acres of land to be used for the park in 1937, the FFrank E. Murphy County Park now covers a generous 34 acres of land, including around 1300 feet of Horseshoe Bay shoreline. The park offers local residents a much-loved outdoor recreation area where they can enjoy fishing, swimming, boating, paddling and volley ball. There are picnic tables, restrooms and a playground for the children. The park hosts the annual 2-day Door County Triathlon, which attracts around 1000 participants as well as hundreds of supporters.
