Where to Eat
⮕ If You’re Craving Craft Beer, Head to Shipwrecked Brew Pub for Local Brews
Taste craft beers and dig into hearty fare on a casual, affordable night out.
© Shipwrecked Brew Pub
In 1882, the building that now houses Shipwrecked Brew Pub was built. In 2017, a fire destroyed the old building, but when it was rebuilt in 2018, the customer was kept in mind. Rather than old rooms for an inn upstairs, the second story is a dining room featuring water views. With a history that harkens to Al Capone, there are also rumors of ghosts who gently haunt the halls of the restaurant, believed to be victims of Capone’s. Shipwrecked is a brewery that creates microbrews, and a local favorite is the fried cheese curds served with garlic chili ketchup.

Today, guests can stop in the shop to pick up some coffee, shipped in from all around the world, including South India, Nicaragua, El Salvador, and Indonesia. Though the coffee is great, it’s the chocolate that shines in this store. Combining chocolate and cherries is one of the great innovations at Chocolate Chicken since cherries are a local crop.
