Cedar Breaks National Monument is located near Cedar City in the U.S. state of Utah.
It is a natural amphitheater that extends for three miles (4.8 kilometers); it is more than 2,000 feet (610 meters) deep; and the elevation of the amphitheater’s rim is more than 10,000 feet (3,000 meters) above sea level.
Because of its high elevation there is snow during the year, so the park is open from June through October.
Wildlife in the park includes several kinds of birds and mammals such as mountain lions, mule deer, porcupines, and several kinds of squirrels. There are areas of sub-alpine meadows in the park.
